Theatre Movement has been active in the field of performing Arts since 1997. On 23rd January 1997, the birth century of Netaji Subash Ch. Bose, it was formally inaugurated by late Justice Jugal Kishore Mohanty, the Hon'ble Judge of Odisha High Court. It was registered under Society Registration Act on 9th Sept 1997.
The organization sought membership of International amateur Theatre Association (AITA/ IATA) in 2008 and obtained in the same year. In the year 2009 Theatre Movement became the member of CID - International Dance Council, UNESCO, Paris.
To fulfill our aims and objectives we have been organizing All India multi lingual Children's / Youth / Women's play / Classical / folk dance competition and Global Theatre Festival since 2001. During the last 12 years about 500 dramas written by both renewed as well as promising ones and about 25000 amateur artists of various socio-cultural groups of India and a number of other countries of the world have participated and been benefited by this noble Endeavour.
It has organized 12 National Dance / Drama Competition and 8 International Children's'/Youth Festival.
It has organized number of street plays based on Road Safety, Malaria, Aids, Education and Child labor, etc. It has attained 4 International Children's Theatre Festival. It organizes Global Theatre Festival / National Competition every year. It observes World Theatre Day on 27.03 and World Dance day on 29.4. every year.
To preserve, innovate and promote rare and dying performing art form of the State with protection and dissemination.
To carry out special Scheme for encouragement of folk and tribal art forms.
To arrange an International Cultural Exchange Program to help overseas students and researchers with Indian Art.
To promote new and progressive trend in the Theatre Movement.
